Troubleshooting plain white cars in iRacing

With Trading Paints Downloader running, you may see cars briefly turn white and then re-appear with painted cars as iRacing reloads that car’s paint.

Cars that are white — in the process of reloading — should only remain white for a few seconds. If a car remains completely white, including with no numbers or force-stamped manufacturer decals like headlights, it is likely because there is no driver in the car. iRacing only fully reloads a car if a driver is in the car, meaning cars that are stopped on pit road will not show a paint until a few seconds after the driver has entered the car.

If a car, helmet, or suit is plain white on pit road, iRacing requires the car must drive out of pit road in order to fully reload the paint. Either move the replay to a different position, drive out of pit road, or wait for the opponent driver to get in the car.

If cars remain white and never reload, change the LoadTexturesWhenDriving=0 value to LoadTexturesWhenDriving=1 in your RendererDX11.ini inside Documents\iRacing.
