Troubleshooting all-black custom paints
If your paint shows up completely black with no designs or logos, there may be an issue with the paint file.
Possible Issue 1: TGA file bit level (everyone sees your paint as all-black)
Some iRacing PSD templates include an alpha channel on the template, which, when saved out, can result in parts (or all) of the custom paint not appearing in the iRacing sim.
To fix this, ensure you save and upload your paint files as 24-bit TGA files (and not 32-bit TGA files, a default option in some programs).
If you aren’t sure how to do this in your painting program, you can also save and upload your paint files to Trading Paints as PNG files, and they’ll be converted to an iRacing-usable TGA format.
Possible Issue 2: 2048 paint setting (not everyone sees your paint as all-black)
Sometimes, iRacing paints may not appear if you have the 2048 paint textures option disabled in your iRacing graphics options.
If paints show up black, in your iRacing graphics options, check to ensure you have the 2048 paint textures option checked (enabled) and restart the iRacing sim.
