Loading your Trading Paints paints into the iRacing 3D car viewer
You can preview your active paints from Trading Paints in the iRacing 3D Car Viewer by using the "Keep my paints synced from iRacing" option in Trading Paints Downloader.
The "Keep my paints synced from iRacing" option keeps the paints from My Paints on your computer, even when you're not racing on the track in the iRacing sim — which means the iRacing UI can read the paint files. This option is turned off by default.
With the Trading Paints Downloader running, open the Advanced Options menu.
Make sure "Update my own paints" is checked.
Select the "Keep my paints synced from website" option and click Save to save changes.
Open the iRacing UI and navigate to Cars under My Content.
Select the vehicle you want to preview. This should open iRacing's 3D Car Viewer with your currently selected paint from Trading Paints.
If your paint does not appear in the iRacing 3D Car Viewer after following these steps, check the following:
Trading Paints Downloader should be installed and running on your computer. You may need to run as administrator.
Ensure a firewall or antivirus program is not preventing Trading Paints Downloader from operating properly.
Ensure the paint you expect to see is visible in your Trading Paints My Paints section. This is the paint that will load in the iRacing 3D Car Viewer.
If you recently installed Trading Paints Downloader and haven't raced lately, you may need to run a race or launch the iRacing sim for Trading Paints Downloader to sync your account details with iRacing.
Make sure you have "Update my own paints" and "Keep my paints synced from iRacing" checked with changes saved in the Trading Paints Downloader.
In your iRacing sim graphics options, ensure "Hide car numbers" is checked if you are using a Custom Number paint.
